The F88 is Funktion-One's first direct radiating loudspeaker product. It comprises two closely coupled, specially designed 8" drivers and a diffraction slot tweeter. It differs from most enclosures of this type in that it has a dispersion is in excess of 120 degrees and a "Resolution" like presence and smoothness. It has a relatively high efficiency by virtue of the carefully designed and balanced 8" drive unit parameters giving a high output with excellent vocal intelligibility.

The F88 can be used alone or partnered with a sub bass unit such as the Minibass 212 or Microbass 210 for an outstanding large sounding small system.

The AX-88 was built in response to a clearly defined requirement for a high quality 60° by 55° loudspeaker system for installation in small to medium club venues. This dispersion pattern makes it ideal for distributed use and the resulting product is highly versatile. As with all Funktion One designs, the system delivers sonic excellence with high usability.

We advocate its use in conjunction with F-118 or F-218 Funktion One bass enclosures.

The product is provided in Skeletal form so that no unnecessary expenditure is made on superfluous enclosures.

The stunning aesthetic of the AX88 will complement a diverse range of interior designs. With its optional 'hair-net' scrim grill fitted,(available in either black or silver-grey) the product blends into its background and appears almost flat. The AX88 is elegantly finished in silver-grey.

The Resolution 1 is a radical loudspeaker which is set to revolutionise the 2-way small box loudspeaker market. Tony Andrews' 30 years pioneering research and development of high efficiency cone mid-range has resulted in a completely new 5 inch loudspeaker (patent pending) which finally eliminates the need for compression drivers with their inherent harshness and distortion. This device, when used in conjunction with a miniaturised, dedicated Axhead-loaded waveguide, smoothly reproduces both the vital mid range and high frequencies with exceptional coherency and detail. Further, instead of stretching the response of a compromised compression driver to (almost) meet an equally stretched and indistinct 12" or 15" low frequency driver at 1 to 2 kHz as in traditional 2-way systems, Funktion One’s new 5"device properly connects with the (outstanding) 12" ported bass driver at 520Hz. The resulting bass is lively and very well defined. The high efficiency , projection and imaging of the R1 make it hard to imagine that it comes in such a compact and lightweight package. The enclosure shape has a rear recess that can either be used to flush fit a separate passive crossover module (see below) or an amplifier module in a future self powered version. The waveguide can be rotated for use in either vertical or horizontal formats. Standard cabinet finishes are violet or silver. There are two grill options - a half height punched metal grill which protects the 12" loudspeaker and covers the ports whilst leaving the waveguide fully visible. The Resolution 1 is as versatile as its markets are varied and delivers an unprecedented listening experience.

The R1.5 is the latest exciting addition to Funktion One's Resolution Series of loudspeakers. Building on the success of the R1, we have created a 2-way enclosure with 70 degree dispersion, super high-fidelity and incredible low frequency output for its small size. It is perfect for applications needing a single enclosure per side including club, theatrical and live sound use.

For the first time we have combined our unique 5" cone loudspeaker with a new 70 degree axhead-loaded waveguide and substantial 18" bass to offer an extremely capable two way enclosure.

In common with the Resolution 1, the 5" eliminates the need for compression drivers with their inherent harshness and distortion. The 5" driver’s ability to operate cleanly down to a low crossover point of 650 Hz allows the transition to the bass driver to be of exceptional smoothness. Furthermore, our recent breakthrough in bass loading technology enables use of an 18" driver in an enclosure size where previously only a 15" loudspeaker could have been used.

The Resolution 1.5TT is a 2-way enclosure specifically designed for mid sized venues with low ceiling heights. It can be neatly installed tight against a ceiling providing good coverage due to the built-in downward angle of the devices. Combining twin 12'' drivers as used in the Resolution 1 with the 90 degree dispersion 5'' from the Resolution 1.5, this is a unique and excellent solution to hitherto hard to specify applications. Its already strong bass response can be further extended with a wide range of Funktion One bass enclosures, ranging from the Minibass 212 to the F121.

This portable 'all in one' system is probably the smallest fully horn loaded enclosure available. The unique combination of compact size, low weight and sonic excellence, make it the ideal choice for an incredibly wide range of applications. It is equally suited for use by discerning musicians and DJs as by leading sound consultants in demanding projects. From small to medium club and pub venues to critical AV and professional sound reinforcement applications, this loudspeaker system resolves the quest for quality, response and level from a small source. The Resolution 2 undoubtedly delivers exceptional sound with a surprising amount of bass for its size.

The Resolution 2 is a full range, 3-way bi-amplified horn loaded enclosure with a passive high frequency crossover. The design incorporates Funktion One's patented Axhead technology and new space saving bass loading. This highly efficient design provides outstanding fidelity across the full frequency range from 45Hz to 17kHz for use both in a mobile or installation environment.

The Resolution 2 consists of a 15" low frequency driver covering the frequency range from 45Hz to 250 Hz, an 8" mid-range driver coupled to a wide dispersion axhead covering the frequency range from 250Hz to 6.5kHz and a 1" high frequency driver covering the frequencies in the range 6.5kHz to 17kHz. It features a well controlled dispersion pattern of 50° horizontal by 25° vertical and is constructed from 15mm birch plywood with large integral handles to the rear of the box at the top and bottom for ease of handling. The wooden enclosure is finished in violet semi-matt texture paint, (optional silver finish available on request), with silver waveguides and features built in attachment points for external flying hardware. Speaker connectors fitted to the rear panel provide input and parallel connections.

There is also a version of the enclosure called the Resolution 2U which features a rotatable mid high waveguide. This allows the enclosure to be deployed in either a left or right handed horizontal orientation, particularly useful in rooms with restricted ceiling height.

This is a skeletal version of the mid-high section of the Resolution 2. It is extremely small in size yet is a potent and highly versatile product. It can either be installed using the integral yoke, stand mounted or used on a pole above Funktion-One's F 118 bass enclosure. The product is ideal for many applications from small clubs and demanding audio visual situations through to peripheral use in Funktion-One Stadium systems.

The Resolution 3 is an all in one 3 way enclosure comprising a special horn loaded 18" bass loudspeaker with 5" voice coil, a new Axhead loaded 10" loudspeaker for midrange and a 1" compression driver for high frequencies.

The Resolution 4 is the wide dispersion partner to the Resolution 5 system and is perfectly suited to use in medium sized applications with our F-218 or Resolution 18 bass, or as a delay or in-fill cabinet with Resolution 5 systems. As with all Resolution enclosures, clarity, ease of use and beauty are at its heart.

The system is 'people friendly' with superb aesthetics, unprecedented sound quality and efficiency.

The Resolution 4 has a controlled dispersion pattern of 50° horizontal by 25° vertical for almost seemless array implementation. It should be noted that the enclosures should never be used with an inter-cabinet array angle of less than 35°. In standard applications, this means that no more than four Resolution 4s should be used in a single row, giving a combined coverage angle of 160° when used with our standard Res 4 flying grid. (Two and three wide versions are also available). If greater SPL is required over the same coverage angles then Res 5s should be employed.

Resolution 4s are dimensionally identical to the Resolution 5 and Resolution 18 facilitating co-ordinated system use.

Revolutionary Flying System (Patent Pending) makes the system extremely fast and easy to fly . With Resolution, there is no need for separate flying trunks or losable parts such as chains, links, pins or tools, as all inter-cabinet flying hardware is completely built into the enclosure.

Furthermore, the flying system is very useful when the enclosures are ground-stacked, enabling angle optimisation.

The Resolution 4 offers the flexibility of being used in single box applications.

The system truck packs superbly requiring less transport expense.

The enclosure weight is minimised with Funktion One purpose designed Neodymium magnets on all drivers.

All drive units have been designed by Funktion One specifically for Resolution. The standard skeletal version uses Ceramic magnets, although in weight-critical applications the light-weight Neodymium versions used in the Resolution Touring range can be specified.

The Downfill cabinet is made to hang underneath a Resolution 5 system. It is designed in a wide vertical dispersion format which offers controlled coverage right down to the first row of seats, It's unique shape allows the rest of the cluster to be coupled closely together when the cabinets are kelped. This close coupling of boxes creates a more coherent wave front from the cluster and puts a finishing touch to the spherical cluster's aesthetics. As with other Resolution enclosures, all inter-cabinet flying hardware is included.

Funktion-One's flying system is the most elegant, effective and original solution ever devised to get a point source loudspeaker cluster in the air. An arena cluster can typically be assembled and flown by just two people in about 20 minutes. Furthermore, the hardware comes built in to the Resolution enclosures, with no bits to lose and no tools required. The cluster is solid and it is straightforward to aim the loudspeakers where they are required. Should re-aiming be necessary, Resolution enclosures are so light that two people can simply re-set the vertical angles without even dropping the cluster to the ground.

Funktion One's Ground Stack board system provides a safe, secure and accurate method for ground stacking Resolution 4 and 5, E and Touring enclosures on a variety of Funktion One bass. The System consists of a board which is clamped to the bass stack by mating brackets and secured by a strap that runs from the lowest bass handle on one side, up and over the board and down to the lowest handle on the other side. With the board attached to the bass (and the bass stack secure), various metal brackets are slotted into the board which provide quick to use attachment points for the Resolution enclosures. The boards themselves have no permanent attachments making them easy to transport without snagging. Resolution 4 boards provide the optimal 40 degree horizontal array angles with Resolution 5 boards giving the optimal 20 degree array angles between enclosures. Several different boards are available which provide for all of the most commonly used stacking configurations. The metal mating parts and straps are common to all boards and can therefore be inter-changed. Ground Stack Boards are usually supplied as complete kits but can be purchased on their own for users that want the flexibility of multiple stack configurations with a common set of mating parts. Touring Resolution 4 and 5 enclosures can be safely stacked two high on top of bass (assuming solid and flat ground) using the board system combined with the integral flying linking hardware provided on the enclosures themselves. Resolution 4 and 5 E enclosures can be stacked one row high. All parts are common with the exception of the rear anchor and strap which are either dedicated to the touring or E enclosures.

The RM15 incorporates a light-weight neodymium 15" low frequency driver. In addition to main stage monitoring applications, the RM15 also makes a great drum fill, with the loading providing directional control of the low frequencies for reduced spillage to the rest of the stage. They are also ideal for use as highly accurate and powerful DJ monitors with their low distortion reducing ear fatigue to an unprecedented level.

Funktion One's new RM18 tri-axial stage monitor is a radical departure from the standard 15'' and compression-driver configuration, delivering a significant performance advantage over conventional monitors. The all-new tri-axial arrangement comprises an ultra-fast 18'' driver with 5'' coil and Neodymium magnet and a special 5'' driver with a built-in HF compression driver passively crossed-over at 9kHz. The 700Hz crossover point and the natural materials used in the mid-device give a previously unheard clarity and definition to the vocal range. The bass response of the 18'' driver also makes it well suited to use as a drum monitor. As usual with Funktion One's driver skills, built-in EQ correction is not necessary leaving the enclosure phase coherent with lots of headroom, presenting a great canvas to the monitor engineer and performers on stage. The conical dispersion is 70 degrees, with the enclosure measuring 17'' high x 30'' wide x 20'' deep and weighing in at 35kg.
